Parts of a Plant

• 🌿 Leaves — make food from sunlight (photosynthesis!)
• 🍒 Flower — makes seeds so new plants can grow
• 🥵 Stem — carries water up from the roots to the leaves
• 🍃 Roots — drink water from the soil and hold the plant in the ground
• 🍇 Fruit — holds seeds inside (apples, oranges, tomatoes!)
• 🏠 Seed — grows into a brand new plant

What Plants Need

Every plant needs three things to grow:

1. ☀ Sunlight — energy to make food
2. 💧 Water — absorbed by the roots
3. 🌿 Good soil — holds roots and gives nutrients
