We Learn With Our Senses!

Scientists use their senses to observe the world. You have 5 senses:

• Sight — you use your eyes to see colors, shapes, and light.
• Hearing — you use your ears to hear sounds.
• Smell — you use your nose to smell things.
• Taste — you use your tongue to taste food.
• Touch — you use your skin and hands to feel if something is hot, cold, soft, or rough.

Scientists Observe!

When a scientist looks carefully at something and uses their senses to learn about it, that is called observing. You are already a scientist when you stop and notice the world around you!
